    Configuring your Phone This guide describes how to configure Yealink SIP IP phones via the following ways: Phone User Interface  CommPortal Phone Configurator  The hardware components keypad and LCD screen constitute the phone user interface, which allows the user to execute all call operation tasks and basic configuration changes directly on the phone.

Administrators and end users can configure the features for the IP phones using a simple and intuitive interface. For more information, refer to: www.metaswitch.com.

    The following takes HTTP digest authentication method as an example to introduce phone deployment. Yealink IP phones support many ways to obtain the provisioning server address (e.g., by detecting DHCP options 66/contacting Redirection & Provisioning Server (RPS)/manual settings).

    Customizing Your Phone If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you need to configure network settings manually. The IP phone can support either or both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. If your phone can not contact a DHCP server for any reason, you need to configure a static IP address.

Timer T2 Timer T2 represents the maximum retransmitting time of any SIP request message. The re-transmitting and doubling of T1 will continue until the retransmitting time reaches the T2 value.

If you enable this feature, the phone can download the business group contacts to the remote phone book 1. If you have configured a remote phone book 1 on the phone, its contacts will be overwritten by the business group contacts after downloading.

Enter the desired interval of automatic phone lock in the Lock Time Out field. The default timeout is 0. It means the phone will not be automatically locked. You need to long press to lock it immediately when the phone is idle.

    Using Your Phone The SIP IP phone is designed to be easily used like a regular phone on a public switched telephone network (PSTN). You can place calls, answer calls, transfer a call to someone else, or conduct a conference call. Most features on the phones are intuitive.

To pick up a call directly: When the target number (e.g., 9702981675) receives an incoming call, you can dial the directed pickup code followed by the target number (e.g., *129702981675) to pick up the call or press the directed pickup key (if configured) to pick up the parked call directly.

Priority Paging Group The priority paging group defines the priority of the voice call in progress. If the priority of an incoming multicast paging call is lower than that of the active call, it will be ignored automatically.

    Resetting the phone Reset the phone to factory configurations after you have tried all troubleshooting suggestions but do not solve the problem. You need to note that all customized settings will be overwritten after reset. To reset the phone via phone user interface: Press Menu->Settings->Advanced Settings ->Reset to Factory.

Ensure that the phone is properly plugged into a functional AC outlet.
