Starting the heat pump

The commissioning and adaptation of the control unit to local conditions and the
structural characteristics of the building must be carried out by your heating contrac-
tor.
Stopping the heat pump
If you do not want to use your heat pump
for a short time, e.g. during a holiday,
enable the holiday program (see
page 25) or switch the operating mode
selector to standby 9 (see page 19).
We also recommend you switch your
heat pump to standby, if it will not be
required for longer periods (several
months).
If you do not want to use your heat
pump, you can stop it at the ON/OFF
switch.
■ Frost protection is no longer enabled.
■ All control unit settings remain intact.

1. Check the system pressure at the
A
pressure gauge: The system pres-
sure is too low if the indicator points
to the area below 1.2 bar. In such
cases contact your local heating con-
tractor.
2. Switch ON the power supply, e.g. at
a separate MCB/fuse or a main iso-
lator.
3. Turn the ON/OFF switch A ON.
After a short while, the current oper-
ating conditions and selected set
temperatures appear on the display.
Your heat pump is now ready to oper-
ate.
■ The frost protection of the system is
ensured in standby mode; however, at
temperatures below −20 °C, only if an
electric heater (instantaneous heating
water heater in the heating flow,
accessory) is installed.
■ The circulation pumps are briefly star-
ted every 24 hours to prevent them
from seizing up.
We recommend you contact your local
heating contractor before and after shut-
ting down your heat pump for longer peri-
ods.
Where necessary, your contractor can
then take certain steps, e.g. protecting
the system against frost.
