Mac OS servers (Mac OS X)
The system requirements for settings configuration are as
follows.
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.8
Connection method: Peer-to-peer between the Mac
workstation and the SR-PC4/SRPC-5
Network connection settings:
- IP address
• Mac OS X: 192.168.0.9
• SR-PC4/SRPC-5: 192.168.0.4
- MTU = 1500
Shared folder: /Users/sony/SR_Files
User account:
- User name = sony
- Password = srpc4
To verify the login user account privileges

Click the [System Preferences] icon.

Click the [Users & Groups] icon.

In the [Users & Groups] window, verify that the login
user possesses "Administrator" privileges.
To create the shared folder on the NFS
Note
This section describes how to create the shared folder in
the user's Home. In this procedure, "sony" is specified as
the Home.

Click [Home] in the [Go] menu of the Finder.

When the content of the "sony" folder appears, click
[New Folder] in the [File] menu.

Click the "SR_Files" folder to select it.

Click [Get Info] in the [File] menu, and change the
[everyone] privilege from [Read only] to [Read &
Write] in the [SR_Files Info] dialog box that appears.
To configure network settings

Click the [System Preferences] icon.

Click [Network].

Click [Ethernet] in the [Network] dialog box.

Enter the following for the network settings that
appear on the right.
Configure IPv4: Manually
IP Address: 192.168.0.9
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Click [Apply].
To configure share settings on the NFS
1
Click [Utilities] in the [Go] menu of the Finder.

Click the [Terminal] icon.

Expand the [Terminal] window display, enter "ls -
alg," and press the return key.

Verify the access level in the "SR_File" row, enter "cd
SR_Files," and press the return key.

Enter "pwd," and press the Enter key.

Verify that "/Users/sony/SR_Files" appears, enter
"sudo vi /etc/exports," and press the return key.

When [Password] appears, enter "srpc4" for the
password.
Use the vi text editor to create a new file in /etc/
exports/.

Press the i key while holding down the esc key to
switch vi to INSERT mode.

Enter "Users/sony/SR_Files -network 192.168.0.0 -
mask 255.255.255.0."

Press the esc key, enter ":wq!," and press the return
key.
The file is saved.

Enter "more /etc/exports" after exiting the vi editor to
check the file.

Verify that "Users/sony/SR_Files -network
192.168.0.0 -mask 255.255.255.0" appears.

Enter "sudo nfsd update," and press the return key to
restart the NFS service.

When [Password] appears, enter "srpc4" for the
password.

Enter "showmount -e," and press the return key.

Verify that "/Users/sony/SR_Files 192.168.0.0"
appears.
To change the initial settings of the SR-PC4/
SRPC-5
