General Control

1) Printer initialization
(a) Code: ESC @
(b) Compatibility: EPSON LQ
(c) Function:
• Upon receipt of this code the printer will be initialized to all its menu default settings.
This command is enabled or disabled by a Menu selection.
(d) Additional details:
• All data in the buffer will be cleared and the current printhead position becomes
top of page.
• DLL data will not be deleted.
2) Cancel code
(a) Code: CAN
(b) Compatibility: EPSON LQ/IBM
(c) Function:
• Upon receipt of this command the printer will clear all data from the print buffer.
(d) Additional details:
• This code does not clear or affect the control codes which are resident in the buffer.
3) Set bit 7 code to 1
(a) Code: ESC >
(b) Compatibility: EPSON LQ
(c) Function:
Upon receipt of this command the printer will set bit 7 of the data to 1.
(d) Additional details:
This code limits the range codes from 80H to FFH.
4) Set bit 7 code to 0
(a) Code: ESC =
(b) Compatibility: EPSON LQ
(c) Function:
• Upon receipt of this command the printer will set bit 7 the data to 0.
(d) Additional details:
• This code limits the range codes from 00H to 7FH.
5) Reset 8 bit mode
(a) Code: ESC #
(b) Compatibility: EPSON LQ
(c) Function:
Upon receipt of this command the printer cancels the mode set by either ESC ">"
or ESC "=".
(d) Additional details:
The printer accepts the eighth bit "as is" from the computer (8-bit mode).
