Expected steering performance under critical failure

Below is a summary of the system behavior in different failures in the GoSEA or
GoAW steering mode.
Lost heading from Autopilot and/or lost heading from ECDIS
Immediately
• These alerts and
warnings may be gen-
erated at the ECDIS:
1) Alert "255 Gyro 1
COM Error"
2) Alarm "450 Head-
ing Sensor Not Avail-
able"
3) Warning "902 No
Filter Source of COG/
SOG"
4) Warning "903 No
Filter Source of
Heading"
• The EMRG ALARM
lamp on Autopilot con-
trol panel goes on.
Within a few
• Alert "153 Track Con-
seconds
trol Stop"
• Alert "156 Sensor
Failure"
• Alert "665 Auto Pilot
Mode Conflict"
Repeat every
• Alert "675 Use MAN

Steering" is generat-
