Side
airbags*
Precautions
The
system
has
been
designed
to be fully
operational
for
10 years.
Have
it replaced
at
the end
of
this period.
To prevent
the airbags
from
being
de-
ployed
accidentally,
visit your
PEUGEOT
dealer
for any work
which
needs to be done
on the
vehicle.
The side airbags
system
ensures maximum
protection
if a
seat belt
is wom. Seat belts
must always be
worn
as they improve safety
in
the event
of
a
side-on
collision.
Never cover the
front
seats as the covers will
prevent
the
correct
opening
of the
side
airbags.
Monitoring
of
operation
This is by
an
indicator
light
situated on
the
instrument
panel
which comes
on for approx-
imately 6 seconds and then goes
out each
time the
ignition
is switched
on.
Warning,
if
the
indicator:
does
not light
up on
switching on the ignition
or
does
not
go out
after
6 seconds
or
• flashes for 5 minutes then stays
on
