Radio
In
TA
mode,
the Autostore
function
gives
pri-
ority to stations
which transmit
traffic
infor-
mation.
Storing in the memory with AF switched
off
Automatic following of the frequencies
of
an
FM
station (fulfilling
RDS
standards) recalled
using a pre-selection
button
will
automatically
not
work
if
the station
was stored
in
the
memory
after AF
was
switched
off.
Recalling a station
Select
the waveband
required.
Briefly press one
of
the
pre-selection
buttons
(1)
to
(6)
where the
chosen station
is stored.
The
pre-selection
number
corresponding
to
the
chosen
station
is displayed.
This procedure applies
for
all
stations
which
have
been
stored.
Scanning the stations stored in memory
Your
system
permits
scanning
of
the six
stations in memory
for
a given waveband.
It
is also possible
to
select
a
station
while
listening to
it.
Scanning
the
stations
of
a
single
wave-
band stored in memory

which you wish
to
scan.

Scanning
is
by
listening
in
turn

each
station
in the memory on buttons
(1)
to
(6).
Scanning starts
with
pre-selected
station

or the pre-selected
station
which
follows the
one currently
selected.
Listening
time
for each station in
memory is

TA mode off):
- Five seconds
approximately
for
stations
located
with
satisfactory
reception.
- One
second
approximately
for
stations
located
with
weak
reception.
Listening time
for each station in
memory is
(with
TA
mode
active):

approximately
for stations
able to
broadcast
traffic
information.

approximately
for
stations not
able to
broadcast

Selecting
a station
during
scanning
Briefly
press the
SCN button (22)
while lis-
tening to the chosen station
in order
to
select
it.
Recalling a stored
station
remains
valid
at
all
times.
Interruption
of scan
Scanning
of
stations in memory
can
be
inter-
rupted
by:
-
Selection
of
a
station
during scanning (see
previous
paragraph).
- Selecting
any
function,
except
the traffic
information
function,
accessible
by the
TAlAF button
(12).
RDS (Radio Data System)
In
FM
the
system
decodes the
RDS
informa-
tion
on
the frequency
received
in
order to
display the name of the chosen station and to
maximise reception.

The principal
functions
of the RDS mode
are:
- Automatic
following
of a station
(AF
function):
The
system
automatically chooses
the best
reception
signal
(frequency) for
the
chosen
station.
- Displaying
the name of the station:
In the
case
of an RDS
transmitter, the name
of
the station
is displayed
instead
of
the-
frequency and the waveband.
- Receiving
traffic
information
(TA mode):
RDS
allows the reception
of
traffic infor-
mation,
even
if
you
are listening to a
cas-
sette.
When it
is switched
on, this mode
takes
priority.
This
system
also allows
reception of
mes-
sages issued by other stations linked to
the
EON system
(Enhanced
Other
Networks).
Station following
Automatic
frequency
following
indicator
(AF)
Station
frequency
following
AF
is active by
default when
switching
on,
and is automati-
cally
selected after
any change in
waveband
or
frequency,
except
when recalling a
station
which
was
stored
with AF off.
The AF indicator
light:
- Lights permanently if the
station
possesses
several
transmitters.
- Flashes if:
The
station located
does not satisfy the
RDS
standards.
The
AF
indicator
light
ceases to
flash
automatically
after
two minutes
of listening
to
this station.
