Operating faults - trouble shooting

CASSETTE PLAYER

NO SOUND OR INAUDIBLE
Eject the cassette.
VOLUME Audio problem
If sound returns, continue this procedure, otherwise see

No recording on the cassette Change the cassette
Irregular cassette play or cassette jammed Change the cassette
IRREGULAR
Head dirty Clean the head with a cleaning cassette
OR DISTORTED SOUND
Tape slack or creased Change the cassette
Poor quality recording Change the cassette
SIGNIFICANT Tape recorded using Dolby Switch on Dolby noise reduction
BACKGROUND NOISE
Head magnetised Contact your dealer
SOUND VIBRATES
Tensioner roller dirty Clean the tension er roller with a cleaning cassette
Tape wound on incorrectly
Wind the tape forwards and backwards. If the symptom
persists, replace the cassette
CASSETTE CANNOT BE
No cassette
Insert a cassette
PLAYED FOLLOWING
PRESSING OF A BUTTON
Cassette play faulty Contact your dealer

No cartridge in the player Check that the cartridge is correctly positioned in the player
No discs, discs upside down, or discs unreadable (NO Insert discs into the player which are in good condition and
DISC displayed) the right way up
SOUND "JUMPS"
Discs dirty, scratched or damaged Replace the disc or clean it
Vibration of the player
Check the CD player mountings
"CD ERROR" DISPLAYED
CD player disconnected during use
Reconnect the player
Mechanical player problem Eject the cartridge
