Activating an SBPD Connected to a Macintosh Computer

The procedure for activating an SBPD connected to a Macintosh computer varies depending
on whether you connect to a serial or USB port.
To activate an SBPD connected to a Macintosh computer serial port:
1. Attach the Macintosh serial adapter (not included) to the long end of the supplied DB9-to-
DB9 serial cable and insert the barrel-shaped end of the adapter into the modem or printer
port on your Macintosh. The other end of the DB9-to-DB9 serial cable should have been
connected previously, as explained on page 9.
NOTE: The Macintosh serial adapter (part # 93-065-00) must be ordered separately.

2. With your Macintosh turned off, unplug your Macintosh keyboard connector from the
keyboard port. Next, connect the power plug end of the Macintosh keyboard adapter (not
included) to the power plug on the long DB9 connector and the other end to the vacated
keyboard port. Finally, reconnect the keyboard connector to the Macintosh keyboard power
adapter.
NOTE: The Macintosh keyboard power adapter (part # 93-060-01) must be ordered
separately.
