Initial Setting

Description
Specify the default settings for Copy mode.
The copy settings selected when the machine is turned on (the pow-
er switch is set to "n") or the [Reset] key is pressed can be specified.
• Current Setting:
The settings specified from the touch panel before Utility mode
was entered are set as the default settings for Copy mode.
• Factory Default:
The factory default settings are set as the default settings for
Copy mode.
Reminder
To change the default settings for Scan mode or Fax mode, press the
[Scan] or [Fax] key, enter Utility mode, and then select a setting for this
parameter.

Copier Setting

Description
Select whether copying is permitted
when the "Auto Paper Select" setting is
selected and either no document is
placed on the original glass or the
document placed on the original glass is
too small for its size to be detected.
• Copy on Small Size:
The document size is determined to
be 5-1/2 × 8-1/2, and copies are
produced on 5-1/2 × 8-1/2-size
paper.
• Copy on Letter:
The document size is determined to
be 8-1/2 × 11, and copies are
produced on 8-1/2 × 11-size paper.
• Prohibit Copy:
Copies cannot be produced since the
document size cannot be detected.
Before pressing the [Start] key, the
paper drawer (paper to be printed on)
must be selected.
