System Unit Cover

1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 5.4).
CAUTION: Turn off the computer before disconnecting any cables.
CAUTION: When the computer is plugged into an AC power source there is always voltage applied to
the system board. You must disconnect the power cord from the power source before opening the
computer to prevent system board or component damage.
CAUTION: The cooling fan is off only when the computer is turned off or the power cable has been
disconnected.
The cooling fan is always on in all other instances (when the computer is either "On," or in "Standby" or
"Suspend" mode).
You must disconnect the power cord from the power source before opening the computer to prevent

1. Press in the quick release cover latch on each side of the front bezel to release the hood latches.
2. Slide the cover forward about 1-inch (2.5-cm); then, lift it up and off the unit.
Removing the System Unit Cover
To replace the cover, reverse the removal procedure.
