List of LCD Display Messages

The following messages are displayed on the LCD display when the machine
performs a function or encounters an error. This section describes messages
related to fax functions only. For other messages, see Chapter 6,
"Troubleshooting," in the Reference Guide.
CHANGE DOCUMENT
Cause
When using the platen glass to send documents in the Book Sending mode, you
pressed [Start] without changing the document.
Remedy
Place the next document on the platen glass
DOCUMENT TOO LONG
Cause 1
The document is longer than 14" (356 mm), or is not feeding correctly.
Remedy
Reduce the length of the document to within 14" (356 mm), and then copy or
resend it.
Cause 2
The ADF roller rotates without feeding documents.
Remedy

Fan the edges of the document that will feed into the machine first, then tap the edges
on a flat surface to even the stack.
HANG UP PHONE
Cause
The handset is not placed in the handset cradle correctly.
Remedy
Replace the handset correctly.
INCORRECT PAPER SIZE
Cause
The size of the paper in the paper drawer and that specified in <DRAWER PAPER
SIZE> (from the ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS menu) are different. This message is
displayed when the report or the received document is output.
Remedy
Load the correct paper size or change the DRAWER PAPER SIZE setting in
<ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS>. (See Chapter 4, "Common Settings," in the Reference
Guide.) Then, reset the machine by sliding the platen unit to the left and then back to
its original position.
