Problem
Aiming pattern does not appear
when pressing the trigger.
Possible Causes
No power to the device.
Incorrect host interface cable is used.
Interface/power cables are loose.
Device is disabled.
Device is disabled.
If using RS-232 Nixdorf B mode, CTS
is not asserted.
Aiming pattern is disabled.
Battery may be discharged.
Possible Solutions
If the configuration requires a power
supply, re-connect the power supply.
Connect the correct host interface
cable.
Re-connect cables.
For IBM 468x mode, enable the device
via the host interface. Otherwise, see
the technical person in charge of
scanning.

Assert CTS line.
Enable the aiming pattern. See

Check the battery status. If the battery
is discharged:
1. Place the device in the charge only
cradle with a 12V power supply.
The device should power on.
2. Attach a cable to the device and
connect it to a PC. Wait at least two
hours (depending on the level of
discharge) for the device to acquire
sufficient charge to boot the device.
During this period the device
appears to be inoperative. A
complete charge of a fully
discharged battery may take
several hours. (See Battery
Charging on page 1-14.) If the
device does not power up, contact
Motorola support.
