Displays the RMON statistics for the selected
Port
port.
Displays the RMON statistics for the selected
LAG
LAG.
Displays the selected MIB variable.
Counter Name
Defines the sampling method for the
Sample Type
selected variable and comparing the value against the
thresholds. The possible field values are:
Compares the values directly with the
Absolute
thresholds at the end of the sampling interval.
Subtracts the last sampled value from the
Delta
current value. The difference in the values is compared
to the threshold.
Displays the rising counter value that
Rising Threshold
triggers the rising threshold alarm. The rising threshold
is presented on top of the graph bars. Each monitored
variable is designated a color.
Displays the mechanism in which the alarms
Rising Event
are reported. The possible field values are:
Indicates there is not a saving mechanism for
LOG
either the device or in the management system. If the
device is not reset, the entry remains in the Log Table.
Indicates that an SNMP trap is generated, and
TRAP
sent via the Trap mechanism. The Trap can also be
saved using the Trap mechanism.
Indicates that both the Log and Trap mechanism

Displays the falling counter value that

alarm.
The Add to List button adds the RMON Alarms Table
entry.
The Alarm Table area contains the following additional
field:
Displays the current counter value for the

particular alarm.
Statistics > RMON Events
An RMON Event determines the action to take when an
alarm is triggered. The response to an alarm can include
logging the alarm or sending an SNMP trap message. If
the response corresponding to an alarm has not yet been
defined, use the RMON Event screen to configure the Event
Setting table.

Add Event

Displays the event.
Event Entry
Displays the community to which the event
Community
belongs.
Displays the user-defined event description.
Description
Describes the event type. Possible values are:
Type
Indicates that no event occurred.
None
Indicates that the event is a log entry.
Log
Indicates that the event is a trap.
Trap
Indicates that the event is both a log
Log and Trap
entry and a trap.
Displays the device or user that defined the
Owner
event.
