Understanding UPS Operation UPS System Overview The Eaton 9E UPS is a continuous-duty, solid-state, transformer-free, three-phase, true online system that provides conditioned and uninterruptible AC power to the UPS system's output and critical load. The basic system consists of a rectifier, battery converter, inverter, monitoring/operation control panel, integrated communication server, and digital signal processor (DSP) logic.
  • Page 58: Single Ups

5.2.1 Modes The Eaton 9E UPS supports a critical load in four different modes of operation: • In Standard Normal mode, the critical load is supplied by the inverter, which derives its power from rectified utility AC power. In this mode, the battery charger also provides charging current for the battery, if needed, Standard mode is the standard normal operating mode.
