4.11 Miscellaneous

Miscellaneous setting is used to configure output queue aging time, VLAN stride and
IGMP snooping.
 Output Queue Aging Time:
Purpose: This function is used to avoid the traffic jam on one port will not

cause the congestion of other ports. In some application, for example the
IPTV Multicast communication, the multicast stream is continuously
generating from the source port, the client port may be congested because
of the limited bandwidth or slow network processing ability. Then, the
Pause frame of Flow Control will be generated once the packet buffer is
full. With the Output Queue Aging Time feature, when a packet is stored at
output queue in a switch for a long time will be aged out and become a
useless packet.
