How to configure SNMP
This facility is available by clicking on the "Services" menu followed by the "SNMP" menu item on the right..
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is used to remotely monitor the router for conditions that may warrant administrative
attention. It can be used to retrieve information from the router such as the signal strength, the system time, the interface status, etc.
To configure SNMP:
Click Enable
Enter Community Names or leave them as default
SNMP mandates that the SNMP agents should accept request messages only if the community string in the message matches its
community name. Therefore, the management application should always communicate with the agents along with the associated
community name. The default SNMP community names are "public" for read-only (GET) operations and "private" for read-write (SET)
operations.
