Staple sort

The STAPLE SORT mode staples copies of A4, A4R, B4, A3, and
8-1/2" x 11" (8-1/2" x 11", 8-1/2" x 11"R, 8-1/2" x 14", 11" x 17", and
A4) sizes. For other paper sizes, use the manual stapling mode. See
page 88.
In some regions, 8-1/2" x 11" is indicated as 216 mm x 279 mm
and/or 216 mm x 330 mm (8-1/2" x 13") size paper can be used
additionally.

Using the RADF
1 Set the originals in the document feeder tray face up
with the stapling position in the upper left corner.
If the number of copies to be delivered into each bin is more
than 50 for A4, A4R or 8-1/2" x 11" (8-1/2" x 11", 8-1/2" x 11"R
or A4) paper or 25 for B4 or A3 (8-1/2" x 14" or 11" x 17")
paper, the copies will not be stapled.
If the SF-S55N is installed, the stapling position(s) can be
adjusted. See page 87.
The stapling position shown in the left figure is the position for
the SF-S53N and the factory default position for the SF-S55N.

Make sure that there is no paper in any sort bin before

selecting the STAPLE SORT mode.

If the auto paper select mode has been enabled, the paper tray
PRE-COUNT
with the corresponding paper size will be automatically

If the 20-bin staple sorter (SF-S55N) is installed, copy paper
sizes which can be used depend on the stapling position. If a
copy paper size which cannot be used for the initial stapling
position setting is selected, the START key indicator will go
out. Select another paper size or adjust the stapling position as
described on page 87.
Set the number of copies.

Up to 20 sets can be made.
Press the START key.

When copying and sorting are completed, each set of copies
will be automatically stapled.
Sets of copies containing copies of different width will not be
stapled.
