Reassembly

Install Muffl er
1. Install the port liners (if equipped). Install
exhaust gaskets and the muffl er. Install the
oxygen sensor, torque to 50.1 N·m (37 ft . lb.), and
connect to wire harness.
2. Install the muffl er and att aching hardware to
the muffl er bracket. Torque screws to 9.9 N·m
(88 in. lb.).
3. Install the hex fl ange nuts to the exhaust studs.
Torque hex fl ange nuts to 27.8 N·m (246 in. lb.).
Install Oil Cooler
1. Secure the adapter to the closure plate with the
oil fi lter nipple. Torque the oil fi lter nipple to 28.5
N·m (21 ft . lb.). See Figure 10-86.

2. Verify all fuel and vent hoses are routed
properly and not pinched. Install the two hex
fl ange screws to the blower housing. Torque
the screw between the hoses to 2.3 N·m
(20 in. lb.) and the outer screw to 2.8 N·m
(25 in. lb.). See Figure 10-87.

Install Oil Filter and Fill Crankcase with
Oil
NOTE: If testing oil pressure aft er completing
reassembly, install the oil pressure adapter
instead of the oil fi lter.
1. Prefi ll a new oil fi lter following the instructions in
Section 6.
2. Apply a thin fi lm of clean engine oil to the rubber
gasket on the oil fi lter and thread the fi lter onto
the adapter nipple. See Figure 10-88.
3. Refer to oil fi lter for specifi c installation
instructions.

4. Install the oil drain plug(s). See Figure 10-89
Torque the plugs to 13.6 N·m (10 ft . lb.).
NOTE: Make sure that both oil drain plugs
are installed and torqued to these
specifi cations to prevent oil leakage.
