Fax cannot be received

If the fax cannot be received, refer to the following table, and then perform the indicated operations. If the fax
still cannot be received correctly, even after performing the described operations, contact your technical
representative.

Detail
The Internet Fax RX Error Report is printed out in cases such as reception of unsupported file types.
For details on the Internet Fax RX Error Report, refer to "Internet Fax RX Error Report" on page 10-10.
When Nxx type error code is displayed, refer to "Error Messages" on page 4-5.
For details on the troubleshooting procedures for original misfeed, paper misfeed, poor print quality, or
empty toner, refer to the User's Guide [Copy Operations].

Is the paper loaded?
Is the paper blocked?
Is the toner empty?
Is the network cable connect-
ed correctly?
Is there memory shortage or
inadequate hard disk capaci-
ty?
Is the Memory RX function
set?
Remedy
When the paper load icon lights up and there is no pa-
per, the received original is stored in the memory. Load
the paper.
For the details on the paper loading operation, refer to
the User's Guide [Copy Operations].
If there is a paper misfeed, the received document is
stored in the memory.
Remove the blocked paper.
For the details on the paper misfeed, refer to the User's
Guide [Copy Operations].
Fax cannot be received if the toner is empty.
Replace the toner cartridge immediately.
For the details on the toner cartridge replacement, refer
to the User's Guide [Copy Operations].
Check the network cable connection and connect prop-
erly if it is disconnected.
Check the remaining capacity of memory and the hard
disk.
If the remaining capacity is inadequate, fax cannot be
received or it cannot be printed even if it is be received.
When the Memory RX function is set, print the received
original as follows.
1. Press [User Box] key.
2. Touch [Use Document].
3. Touch [System User Box].
4. Touch [Memory RX User Box] and then touch [OK].
5. When password is set, enter the password and touch
[OK].
6. Select the original which is to be printed and touch
[Print List].
Or, set the [Memory RX Setting] to [No].
