Initialize (format) the Memory Card or internal memory for
use with the camera.

A Press p or q to select [OK].
B Pressing MENU/OK initializes the Memory
Card or internal memory.
CAUTION
• The Format function erases all the frames (files),
including protected frames (files).
Back up important frames (files) onto your PC or
another media.
• Do not open the battery cover or slot cover during
formatting. The Memory Card or internal memory could
be damaged.
How to use the [SET-UP] menu (➝p.121)

[AUTO POWER OFF]

When this function is active and the camera remains
unused for 2 or 5 minutes, it turns camera off.
Use this function when you want to get the maximum
possible running time from your battery.
CAUTION
The Auto power off function is disabled during slide show
(➝p.102), and when a printer or a PC connection
(➝p.134, 143) is being used.
