BlackDiamond X8 Series Switches
This port allows you to communicate directly with the central processing unit (CPU) of the switch. You
can plug an Ethernet cable directly from your laptop into the management port for direct access into
the switch. This access allows you to view and locally manage the switch configurations.
USB ports on the management module allow you to attach a single USB 2.0 flash drive. Only a USB
flash drive that is formatted using the file allocation table (FAT) file system is recognized on these
ports. Other devices, such as a USB external hard drive, will not be mounted.
