Choose Your Partitioning Strategy
HP recommends using the default partitioning mode: Automatically partition and
REMOVE DATA ("Disk Partitioning" section).
Boot Loader Installation
NOTE: For users installing to a Promise FastTrak100 TX2, HP recommends selecting LILO
as the default Linux bootloader. (HP only supports LILO on systems booting from a
FastTrak100 TX2.)
GRUB is selected as the default linux bootloader. If this is acceptable, press Next to
continue.
NOTE: Upon which storage device you will be booting from will determine if you should install
the bootloader record on the Master Boot Record (MBR). Please refer to the Red Hat Manuals
for further information regarding the bootloader record.
NOTE: For users installing to a Promise FastTrak100 TX2, under Kernal Parameters, enter
the following:
ide0=0x1f0,0x3f6,14 ide1=0x170,0x376,15 ide2=0
ide3=0 ide4=0 ide5=0 ide6=0 ide7=0 ide8=0 ide9=0
GRUB Password
HP recommends a password to protect access to GRUB. Click Next to continue.
(Not applicable for Promise FastTrak100 TX2 installations.)
Network Configuration
NOTE: The network settings need to be customized to your environment. Please refer to Red
Hat manuals, should you need further details on the networking settings.
Firewall Configuration
Review the Firewall setting and modify if necessary.
