Using the Digital Zoom

✤ A 3x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom are available.
The Zoom indicator shows the current zooming status.
A divider indicates the border between optical and digital zooming.
The digital zoom digitally processes data from the CCD (Charge
Coupled Device, Image Sensor) to enlarge the center portion of
the image to fill the frame and may produce a less detailed and
slightly grainy picture.
Zooming In
Push the Zoom Lever toward the TELE side, to zoom in
until the zooming indicator crosses the line to the TELE
side. After reaching the maximum optical zoom level,
pushing the Zoom Lever downward even further
automatically turns on the Digital Zoom.
Zooming Out
Push the Zoom Lever toward the WIDE side, to zoom out
until the zooming indicator crosses the line to the WIDE
side. After reaching the minimum digital zoom level,
pushing the Zoom Lever even further automatically turns off the Digital
Zoom and returns to the Optical Zoom.

✤ Digital Zooming may produce grainy (noisy) pictures.
✤ Saving pictures which use the Digital Zoom may take more time.
✤ The Digital Zoom is not available for Motion Clips or NIGHT scene
mode.
✤ Do not obstruct the lens movement while zooming.

Digitalzoom verwenden

✤ Die Kamera verfügt über ein optisches 3fach- sowie über ein digitales
12fach-Zoom. Die aktuelle Zoom-Einstellung wird mit der Zoom-
Anzeige dargestellt. Der Wechsel von optischem zu digitalem Zoom
wird durch einen Trennstrich angezeigt. Das Digitalzoom vergrößert
die Bildmitte auf die gesamte Bildfläche und verarbeitet dazu Daten
aus dem CCD (Charge Coupled Device). Unter Umständen entsteht
hierbei ein weniger detailreiches, grobkörniges Bild.
Zoom Ein

Verschieben Sie die Zoom-Taste in Richtung TELE, bis
die Zoom-Anzeige den Rand des TELE-Bereichs erreicht.
Wenn Sie nach Erreichen der Grenze des optischen

Zooms die Zoom-Taste weiter betätigen, wird automatisch
das Digitalzoom aktiviert.
Zoom Aus

Verschieben Sie den Zoomregler in Richtung WEITWINKEL
<WIDE>, bis die Zoom-Anzeige den Rand des
WEITWINKEL <WIDE>-Bereichs erreicht. Wird der
T
Zoomregler losgelassen, nachdem die niedrigste Digitalzoom-
Stufe erreicht wurde, wird das Digitalzoom automatisch
deaktiviert; das optische Zoom wird eingeschaltet.
Hinweise
✤ Das Digitalzoom verursacht möglicherweise grobkörnige Bilder.
✤ Das Speichern von Bildern, die mit Digitalzoom aufgenommen
wurden, ist unter Umständen zeitaufwändiger.
✤ Der Digitalzoom kann für Videoclips bzw. Nachtaufnahmen nicht
verwendet werden.
✤ Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie die Zoom-Bewegung der Linse nicht
blockieren.
