Probable cause
A Programming Device
connected to the PC is
performing an operation such
as online editing.
(when attempting to change
the operating mode or clear
forced status)
The cause of the PC error
has not been eliminated.
The Device Monitor function
was called when the PT was
not connected to a PC that
supports Device Monitor.
The communications protocol
set at the PT is not 1:1 NT
Link or 1:N NT Link.
The table below shows the errors that can occur when the PT data is initialized,
and during data setting and transmission, and their remedies.
Cause
There is a hardware fault, or the
flash memory (memory for
storing screen data) has reached
the end of its service life.
Hardware fault, or system
program error
The connecting cable is
defective.
Malfunction due to external noise
Malfunction due to external noise
The connecting cable is
defective.
The receive buffer has
overflowed.
Remedy
Try the operation again after disconnecting the
Programming Device.
Eliminate the cause of the error that you are trying to
clear. For details, refer to the PC's Operating Manual.
Check the model of the PC that is connected. (Refer to
2-17-1 Compatible Systems for a table of PCs that
support the Device Monitor function.)
Check the memory switches (fourth screen) and set the
connected PC's serial port protocol to 1:1 NT Link or
1:N NT Link. Set the same protocol in the PC.
If the same message is displayed even after
clearing the screen data or transmitting screen
data several times, contact your nearest
OMRON representative.
Set the calendar clock again from the System
Menu. If the problem recurs, delete the program
in the System Installer mode, then re-install the
program. (Refer to Section 6 of the Setup
Manual.)
If this does not solve the problem, contact your
nearest OMRON representative.
Check the cable connection and perform a
conductivity test. If there is a fault, replace the
cable. (Refer to the appendix Making the Cable
for Connecting a PC in the Setup Manual.)
Carry out grounding work in accordance with the
conditions. (Refer to Grounding in section 3 in
the Setup Manual.)
Carry out grounding work in accordance with the
