Report Table Setup

Report Table Setup Example

B-6
An NMS manager uses the NMS Report group to request a text report. The
following parameters are required to define the database search parameters
used to select data for a report. To set up the Report table, parameters must be
entered based on object nmsReportEntries (
nmsReportType specifies the type of report being requested.
nmsReportName specifies the name of a file into which the report will be
stored on the 6700 hard disk in the defined directory. The name must be a
valid file name for the operating system on which the 6700 resides.
nmsReportScope must be Set to the name of a configured device, to the
name of a configured hunt group, or to null. A null string implies all devices.
nmsReportStart and nmsReportStop are used to define a date and time
range.
After the report is completed, the NMS manager can transfer the report file by
whatever means is available. For example, an FTP server could be installed on
the 6700 NMS workstation. The format of the lines in the report is specified by
report type in the report section. Refer to File Formats in Chapter 3, Traps and
Report Formats.
The Report Table setup example is a call statistics report for device B3811 for the
time period from July 10, 1998, 10:00:00 to July 11, 1998, 14:00:00. The report
will stored in the file named CALLSTAT.RPT. The table entry used is index 1
(shown as .1).
Procedure
1. Get the object nmsReportEntryStatus.1. Verify that the value is invalid(4).
2. Set the object nmsReportEntryStatus.1 to the value createRequest(2). The
Proxy Agent will immediately change the object to the value
underCreation(3), and the object nmsReportOwnerIPAddr.1 will be Set to the
IP address of the NMS manager requesting the Set.
3. Set the object nmsReportType.1 to the value callStatistics. The order in
which the parameter objects are Set is not important, but it can only be done
while the object nmsReportEntryStatus is Set to the value underCreation(3).
4. Set the object nmsReportName.1 to the string CALLSTAT.RPT.
5. Set the object nmsReportScope.1 to the string B3811.
6. Set the object nmsReportStart.1 to the value 07 CE 07 0A 0A 00 00. The
value shown is an octet string with the value of each octet in hexadecimal.
7. Set the object nmsReportStop.1 to the value 07 CE 07 0B 0E 00 00. The
value shown is an octet string with the value of each octet in hexadecimal.
