v ision
Cleanin g the headlights* . The headlight wash-
er system* operates on ly when the headlights
a re on. If you move the lever to position

the headlights are washed in intervals.

WARNING
- The rain sensor is only intended to assist
the driver . The dr iver is still responsible
for manually switching the w ipers on ac-
cording to the visibility conditions .
- The windshie ld may not be treated w it h
water-repe lling windshie ld coat ing
agents. Unfavorable conditions, such as
wetness , darkness, low sun, can result in
increased glare. Wiper blade chat t er is
also possible .
- Properly fu nctioning windshie ld w iper
blades are required for a clear view and
saf e dr iving

Note
- In t he case of fro st, check whether the
winds hield wiper blades are frozen to
the windshie ld. Switching on the wind -
shield wipers can damage the wiper
blades!
- Prior to using a car wash, the win dshield
wipe r system must be switched off (lever
in position @ ). This helps to prevent un-
intent ional switchi ng on and damage to
t he windshie ld w iper system .
- The w indshield wipers are switched off
when the ignition is turned off . Activate
the windshie ld w ipers afte r the ignit ion
is switched back on by moving t he wind-
shield wiper lever to any posit ion.
- Worn or dirty windsh ield w iper blades
result in streaking . This can affect t he
rain sensor* function . Check your wind-
shield wiper blades regularly.
- The washer fluid nozzles of the wind-
shield washer system are heated at low
temper atures w hen the ignit ion is on.
- When stop ping temporarily , (e.g. at a
traff ic light) the set speed of the wi nd-
shield wipers is automatically reduced by
one speed.
Replacing windshield wiper blades
Wiper blad es in good condition help keep th e

Removing the wiper blade
.,. Lift the windsh ield wiper arm up from t he
w indshie ld.
.. Press the locking knob

.. Remove the wipe r blade in the direction of
the arrow .
Attaching the wiper blade
.. I nsta ll t he new w iper blade in the retainer
on t he wiper arm @ unt il you hear it click in-
to place on the wiper arm.
.. Place the wiper arm back on the windshield.
.. To bring the w ipers back into the or igina l
position, press t he windshield wiper lever.
