Tire pressure indicator appears
Applies to vehicles: with tire pressure monitoring system
The tire pressure indicator in the instrument
cluster informs you if the tire pressure is too
low or if there is a system malfunction.

Using the ABS sensors, the t ire pressure mon i-

dividual tires. If the pressure decreases in one
or mo re tires, th is is indicated in the instru -

warn ing symbol and a

The driver message in the
disp lay goes out after S seconds. The driver
message can be displayed again by pressing
the
!SE T!
button. If only one tire is affected,
the display will indicate its position .
The t ire pressure monitoring system must be
reset via radio or MMI* each t ime the pres-
sures are adjusted (e.g . when switching be-
tween partia l and full load pressure) or after
changing or replacing a t ire on your vehicle

The TPMS indicator only moni-
tors the tire pressure that you have previously
stored . You can find the recommended tire
pressures for you r vehicle on the label on dr iv-

Tire tread circumfe rence and vibration charac-
ter ist ics can change and cause a ti re pressure
warn ing if :
- the tire pressure in one or more t ires is too
low,

- the t ire has struc t ural damage,
- t he t ire pressure was changed, wheels rot at-
ed or rep laced but the TPMS was not reset

turn off or if it t urns on shortly the reaft er, im -
med iate ly dr ive your vehicle to an authorized
Audi dealer or authorized repair faci lity to
have the malfunct ion corrected.

WARNING
- If the tire pressure ind icator appears in
the instrument cluster display, one or
more of your t ires is sign ificant ly unde r-
inflated . Reduce you r speed immediately
and avoid any hard steer ing or braking
maneuvers. Stop as soon as possib le and
check the tires and their pressu res. In-
f late the tire pressure to the prope r pres-
sure as indicated on the vehicle's tire
pressure label

226. Driving on a
sign ificantly under-inflated tire causes
the t ire to overheat and can lead to tire
fa ilure. Under-inflation also is likely to
impair the vehicle's handling and stop-
ping ability .
- The drive r is responsib le for maintaini ng
the correct tire pressures . You must
check the tire pressures regu larly.
