- If the parking brake is set whe n the ign ition is
switched on, the .

- If the parking brake is set when the ignition is
switched off, the .

ly 20 seconds .

WARNING
- Do not press the accelerator pedal inadver-
tent ly if the vehicle is stationary but the en-
gine is runn ing and a gear is selected. Oth-
erwise the veh icle will start to move imme-
diately and could result in a crash .
- If the power supply fa ils, the released park-
ing brake can no longer engage. In th is
case, park the vehicle on level ground and
sec ure it by placing the selector lever in the
P position. See an author ized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility for assis-
tance.
- If the power supply fa ils, you cannot set the
parking brake if it is released . In this case,
park the vehicle on level ground and secure
it by placing the selector lever in the P posi-
t ion. See an authorized Audi dea ler or au-
thorized Aud i Serv ice Facility for ass istance.

Tips
- If the parking brake is set while the ignition
is switched off, the

indicator light in the
button and in the instrument cluster d is-
play -

els) will turn off after a certain amount of
time.
- If dr iver's door is opened while the ign ition
is sw itched on, the parking brake sets auto-
matically. This prevents unintended rolling
of the vehicle.

- Occasional noises when the pa rking brake is
applied and released are normal and are not
a cause for concern .
- When the vehicle is parked, the parking
brake goes through a self-test cycle at regu-
lar intervals. Any noises associated with this
are normal.

emergency workers to get into the vehicle,
which puts lives at ris k.

ing broke is released automatically upon start-
ing.
