Checking the engine oil level
The engine oil level can be checked in the Info-
tainment system
• Park your vehicle on a level surface .
• Let t he engine run at idle .
• Wait approx imately two minutes .
• Select in the Infotainment system : the

button > left cont rol but t on > Service & check s
> Oil level
• Check the oil leve l in the Infotainmen t system
display.
The engine oil consumpt io n may be up to 1 quart
pe r 60 0 miles (0.8 liter/1,000 km), depe nding
on dr iving style and operat ing cond itions. Con-
sumption may be higher during t he first
3,000 mi les (5,000 km) . Because of this, the en-
g ine oil level must be checked regu larly. It wou ld
be best to check each time you refue l your vehicle
and before long drives.

Tips
The oil level indicator in the Infota inment sys-
tem display is on ly an informational display.
If the oil level is too low, a minimum oil warn-
ing appears in t he instrument cluster . Add oil
and close the eng ine com partment lid . The
curr ent o il level is displayed in t he Infotain-
men t system t he next time the ignit io n is
sw itche d on.

Checking and Filling
• Turn the engine off.
• Unscrew the cap~ for the engine oil fi lling
open ing ¢ page 225 , fig. 163 .
• Carefully add 0.5 quart (0. 5 liter) of the correct
oil ¢ page225.

WARNING
- When adding oil, do not let o il dr ip onto hot
e ngine component s . There could be risk of a
fire.
- You mus t secure the cap on the oil filler
open ing correctly so that oil does not leak
out onto the hot engine and exhaust system
when the engine is runn ing, beca use this is
a fire hazard.
- Always clean skin thoroughly if it comes into
contact with eng ine oil.

have excess oil ext racted if necessary .
- Do not mix any addit io nal lubr icants into
the engine oil. Damage cause by such addi-
tives is not covered by the warranty .

For the sake of the environment
- Oil sho uld never enter the sewer system or
come into contact with the ground.
- Pay attention to lega l requirements when
disposing of empty oil conta iners.
Changing the engine oil
We recommend that have your oil changed by an
authorized Audi dealer or a qualified service sta-
tion.
Before you check anything in the engine compart-
