LED in the remote control key
The LED

informs you of the remote control key
function.
• If you press a button quick ly, the LED blinks
once .
• If you press a button longer (convenience open-
ing/closing), the LED blinks several times.
• If the LED does not blink, the remote control
key battery is dead . The

indicator light and
the message Remote control key: change key
battery appear. Replace the battery .
Replacing the remote control key battery
• Remove the mechanical key c=> page
28.
• Press the release button @ on the battery
holder and pull the battery holder out of the re-
mote control key in the direction of the arrow
at t he same time .
• Inse rt the new battery with the " +" facing
down.
• Push the battery holder carefully into the mas-
ter key.
• Install the mechan ical key.

For the sake of the environment
Dead batteries must be disposed of using
methods that will not harm the env ironment.
Do not dispose of them in household trash .

Tips
The replacement battery must meet the same
specif ications as the original battery .

If the vehicle is unlocked and none of the doors,
the luggage compartment
lid or engine compart-
ment lid are opened within 45 seconds, the vehi-
cle locks again automatically. This feature pre-
vents t he vehicle from being accidentally left un-
locked over a long period of time .
The settings in the Infotainment system deter-
mine if the entire vehicle or only the driver 's door
is unlocked when unlocking the vehicle

WARNING

No one, especially children, should stay in the
vehicle when it is locked from the outs ide, be-
cause the windows are no longer able to open
from the inside
