Medi a
protection switch is installed to protect the CD/
DVD and the laser.
Laser devices:
laser dev ices are d ivided into safe -
ty classes 1 to 4 in accordance with DIN I EC 76
(CO) 6/VDE 0837. The optica l readers that are in-
stalled conform to safety class
1.
Lasers in this
class are very weak and well shielded, so there is
no danger if used correctly.

The SD card readers are located between the
seats in the rear panel.
- In sert ing t he SD card :
the angled corner of the
SD card must point towa rd the right front. The
wr it ing on the SD card faces up and the contact
su rface faces down . Slide the SD card into the
ca rd reader slot @ ¢ fig. 122 until the SD card
clicks into place .
- Automa t ic playback:
playback will start auto-
matically if the inserted SD ca rd contains sup-
po rted audio/v ideo files ¢ page 159 .
- Removing the SD card:
press briefly on the SD
card .
The SD card reader is accessed and operated
through the MMI @ ¢ page 154, fig . 126 .
CD
Note
Only use one-piece SD cards. If adapter cards
(SD cards with more than one piece) are used,
the card cou ld fa ll out of the adapter when
driving because of vibrations . Individual
pieces cou ld then become st uck in the d rive
and impair the functionality.

Tips
Always keep the SD card in a suitable case to
protect it from dirt, dust particles and other
damage.
DVD drive

The DVD drive is located between th e seats in the
rear pan el.
- Loading a CD/ DVD :
the CD/DVD is pu lled in au-
tomatically . Slide the CD/DVD straight into the
DVD s lot @ with the label facing up ¢ fig . 123.
- Automat ic playback:
playback will start auto-
matically if the inse rted CD/DVD contains sup -
ported aud io/video files ¢ page 159 .
- Ejecting a CD/ DVD :
press the button

The CD/DVD is pulled in again aut omat ically if it
is not removed from the DVD slot w ith in approx i-
mately ten seconds after ejecting it .

CD
Note
- Never force a CD/DVD into the drive . The
CD/DVD is pulled in automatically.
- Do not insert CDs/DVDs with labels into the
dr ive. Labe ls can come loose from the CD/
DVD and damage the drive.

Tips
The CO/DVD playback is not ensured with au-
dio files that have a high data rate .
