Remove the covers as necessary as shown
below for cleaning, inspecting, or repaiiing the
inside of the copier.
Covers that can be detached by mere re-
moval of the screws are left out of the pro-
cedure.
1. Removing the Copyboard Glass
1) Remove the copyboard cover.
2) Remove the external covers; upper rear
cover, upper front cover, upper left cover,
and upper right cover in the order named.
Note:
The covers are shaped with a hook; push on
the boss (Figure 4-2) to remove the external
covers.

Removing the Scanner Cooling Fan
(FM21
Remove the copyboard cover and upper
rear cover.
Disconnect J403 from the motor driver.
Remove the four screws, and remove the
scanner cooling fan (FM2).

1) Remove the drum unit and developing as-
sembly.
. Do not expose the drum unit to sun-
light.
