Tone adjustment
To increase the level:
@ Turn the control toward the +10 position.
To decrease the level:
Turn the control toward the -10 position.
Note:
@ ifyou are using a graphic equalizer with this stereo system
(the optional EA~-M830 graphic equalizer for example) we
recommend that tone adjustment be made with either the
amplifier's controls or the graphic equalizer's controls; not
both controls together. Increasing the tone with bcth con-
trols may result in distortion.
Volume adjustment
Volume level can be adjusted with the volume control.
To increase the volume level:
@ Turn the control toward the MAX position.
To decrease the volume level:
@ Turn the control toward the MIN position.
Note:
® Volume can also be adjusted with the remote control's VOL-
UME A/ \/ button. During adjustment the UP and DOWN
indicator will appear on the tuner's frequency/message dis-
play.
Volume balance
@ Turn the control towards the LEFT position.
To decrease the left channel volume:
Volume mute
Note:
@ Mute is automatically cancelled when the power is turned off
or when the position of the input selector is changed.
Input source selection
Dynamic turbo equalizer (AM-M830
model only)
The dynamic turbo equalizer emphasizes bass and creates a
wider stereo effect. To turn the equalizer on, press the DY-
NAMIC
TURBO
EQUALIZER
button. The D.TURBO
source
input indicator will light on the amplifier. To turn it off, press the
button again.
Using a Graphic equalizer during rec-
ording
The G.EQ.REC button is only used when you have an optional
graphic equalizer connected and are using it during recording.
Press the G.EQ.REC button on before beginning playback of
the source to be recorded. The G.EQ.REC source input indica-
tor will light on the amplifier. After recording is finished press the
button again to turn it off.
Note:
@ Donot turn the G.EQ.REC button on and off while recording
with the equalizer.
Sampling frequency indicators (AM-
M830
model only)
The sampling frequency indicators light during digital source
playback to indicate the source's sampling frequency.
The standard sampling frequencies are 48kHz, 44.1kHz and
32kHz.
The 44kHz indicator will light during playback of a 44.1kHz
sampled playback source (compact disc for example).
A/B
Speaker
selection
(AM-M830
model only)
Use the A/B SPEAKERS
switches to select speakers con-
nected to the A and/or B Speaker terminais. To select the con-
-nected speakers set the appropriate switch to the ON position.
Listening with headphones
AM-M830 model:
Set the A and B SPEAKERS switches to the OFF position and
connect the headphones to the PHONES jack. Adjust the vol-
ume with the VOLUME control.
AM-M630 model:
Connect the headphones to the PHONES jack. When head-
phones are connected, sound from the speakers will be in-
stantly cut. Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control.
Caution:
@ Donotlisten foriong periods of time at high volume levels, as
this may damage your hearing.
@ When connecting a pair of headphones during playback,
turn the volume down first.
