(c) Next, press the HOLD key for the purpose of
changing the value of the APE IME display
(takeup side). he present value shown on
the APE IME display and the value shown
on the MEMORY display will be-exchanged.
Now you can change the value by using the
on the previous page step (b) (moving cur ­
sor). In the following example the takeup side
value is changed from 45 seconds to 25 sec ­
onds.
(d) After entering both zone values, press in or ­
der : S O key, ZONE LIMI button. he new
zone limit section has now been setup (previ ­
ously entered data will be battery backed up
even after switching the main power OFF).

• Automatic Calculation of the Zone Limit Section
In addition to the above zone limit section setup procedures by using the numerical keypad, the G24S/
G16S also has the ability to set these limits by automatic calculation. his method is very useful as it will
set the zone limit section by calculating the standardly used beginning and end positions of the tape. Op ­
erating procedures are as follows:
1. While in the play mode, press the ZONE LIMI button while pressing the PLAY button to initiate
automatic calculation of the zone limit section.
2. he left end number of APE IME display will alternately light with the letter " O " to indicate that
G16 is in the automatic calculation mode.
3. Upon completing the calculation, the alternate lighting " o" will stop and the ZONE LIMI LED will
light or blink to indicate the tape position at that instant (it will automatically enter the zone limit
function). After calculating is completed press the S OP button to stop tape.
OTE
Results of automatic calculation of the zone limit section will be affected by tape base thickness,
setup value and setup of reel size (refer to "2nd mode function " ). If the zone limit function does not
work properly after automatic calculation, check these setups.
