he tape will advance towards the supply reel (left hand reel) when the CUEING dial is rotated
counter clockwise. ape speed will increase as the CUEING dial is further rotated CCW.
4. By using this feature, you can locate the beginning of a song by rotating the dial back and forth
while monitoring the sound.

o Exit from the cueing mode, press the EDI button again. he EDI LED will go OFF,

he Cueing function is possible even outside the zone limit parameters.
Spot erasing is the technique of erasing any extraneous sound or noise that may detract from the
performance; such as a cough or dropped drumstick. he spot erase mode can be entered only from the
S OP mode.
Method for Spot Erasing
1, Press the SPO ERASE button to initiate the the spot erase mode. he front panel and control
panel SPO ERASE LEDs will blink and the EDI LED will light.
2. Search with the CUEING dial for a location on the tape near the spot erase point.
3. Put the track(s) for spot erasing in record ready status. he SAFE/RDY LED of these track(s) will
flash alternately red and green.
4. Rotate the reels with your hand to search for the spot erase point. After the point is accur ate ly
located, carefully move the tape back to just before the point.

o spot erase, rapidly rotate the reel by hand in the play direction and press the ERASE ON
button when you arrive at the spot erase point. Keep the ERASE ON button pressed until the end
of section to be erased. he ERASE ON LED will remain lit as long as the ERASE ON button is
pressed. his indicates that the tape is being spot erased,
6. After passing the section to be erased, release your finger from the ERASE ON button. he
ERASE ON LED will go off to indicate completion of erasing. hen release your hand from the
reel.
7, Press either the SPO ERASE button again or the EDI button to exit from the spot erase mode.
he SPO ERASE LED and EDI LED will go OFF indicating you have cancelled the spot erase
mode.
OTES
• When spot erasing, the reel must be " quickly" rotated by hand. If the reel is rotated by the CUEING
dial or if hand rotating speed is slow, a click noise is apt to be recorded at the spot on the tape where
the ERASE ON button was pressed. We suggest you practice this technique a few times before
trying it on a " real" take. he manual process of holding/releasing of the ERASE ON button can be
replaced by stepping/releasing, when the foot switch (optional) is plugged into the PUNCH-IN/OU
jack.
If there is no track in record ready status, the ERASE ON LED will not light even though the ERASE
ON button is pressed.
he RECORD LED on the controller will light during the spot erase process and, the SAFE/RDY LED
of the track being erased will change from flashing alternately red and green to red only.
