Flight Instruments
The course pointer is a single line arrow (GPS1, VOR/LOC1) or a double line arrow (GPS2,
VOR/LOC2) which points in the direction of the set course.
Icon
The deviation bar moves left or right from the course pointer along a lateral deviation scale
to display aircraft position relative to the course. If the course deviation data is not valid, the
deviation bar is not displayed.
Navigation Source Selection (GPS, VOR, LOC, or VLOC)
Use the associated external navigator to select the navigation source and tune VOR/LOC
frequencies. Refer to the appropriate external navigator Pilot' s Guide (e.g., SL30 Nav/Comm
Transceiver Pilot' s Guide, or the GTN or GNS Series Pilot' s Guides) for more information.
Changing the navigation source:
From the 'CDI', 'HSI', or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the CDI Button to cycle through each CDI
source.
Or:
1) From any page, open the menu and select System > CDI Source.
2) Select the desired CDI source.
NOTE: The internal GPS is only for VFR use.
Selecting the NAV radio radial:
1) From the 'CDI' Page, touch the OBS Datafield.
Or:
From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the CRS Datafield.
2) Turn the Small Knob to modify the selected radial.
Centering the NAV radio radial:
From the 'CDI' Page, touch and hold the OBS Datafield or touch the OBS Datafield and
push the Small Knob.
Or:
From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch and hold the CRS Datafield or touch the CRS
Datafield and push the Small Knob.
