This section explains what the messages that appear on the control panel mean
and what to do when a particular message appears.

Description
The stapler is out of staples.
Job is not stapled.
The printer is out of the indicat-
ed toner(s).
XXX: Yellow/Magenta/Cy-
an/Black
The printer is out of toner (C).
The printer is out of toner (M).
The printer is out of toner (Y).
The printer is calibrating the
color.
A communication error sent
from the engine to the control-
ler.
An attempt to check the radio
signal was made while the
communication mode was set
to [Ad hoc] in the interface set-
tings.
Renewal of the certificate auto-
matically has failed.
Solution
Replace staples.
See p.128 "Adding Staples".
Replace the toner cartridge of the indi-
cated color(s).
See p.40 "Replacing the Toner Car-
tridge".
Replace the toner cartridge (C).

tridge".
Replace the toner cartridge (M).
See p.40 "Replacing the Toner Car-
tridge"".
Replace the toner cartridge (Y).

tridge".
Wait a while.
A communication error sent from the
engine to the controller.
To check the radio signal , select In-
frastructure in the communication
mode settings.
Turn the power off, and then on. If the
message appears again, contact your
sales or service representative.
