SWITCHING ON

To turn the system on, press the Burner ON/

OFF switch to the ON position (see ﬁ gure

on Page 27). Once the start up process is

complete, the main burner and pilot will be lit.

REGULATING THE FLAME LEVEL.

1. To decrease the ﬂ ame level to low, press

the Hi-Low switch to the ON position.

2. To increase to high ﬂ ame level, press the

Hi-Low switch to the OFF position.

NOTE: If the appliance is set to the low ﬂ ame

level and turned off, it will light on high ﬂ ame

level and then cycle to low ﬂ ame level on the

next ﬂ ame sequence.

Check pilot ﬂ ame pattern and burner ﬂ ame

patterns often.

PILOT FLAME PATTERN

Figure 45, Page 29 shows a correct pilot

ﬂ ame pattern. Figure 46, Page 29 shows an

incorrect pilot ﬂ ame pattern. The incorrect pilot

ﬂ ame is not touching the thermocouple. This

will cause the thermocouple to cool. When the

thermocouple cools, the heater will shut down.

If pilot ﬂ ame pattern is incorrect, as shown in

Figure 46, Page 29.

NOTE: The pilot ﬂ ame on natural gas units will

have a slight curve, but ﬂ ame should be blue

and have no yellow or orange color.
