DRIVE BELT
Drive Belt Tension
A slack drive belt may contribute to overheating or
insufficient charging of the battery. Adjust the drive belt in
accordance with the Isuzu engine owner's manual.
Drive Belt Inspection
Inspect the drive belt (Figure 74) for damage and wear.
Horizontal cracks (across the belt) are acceptable. Vertical
cracks (direction of belt ribs) that intersect with horizontal
cracks are not acceptable.
Also, examine the belt and determine if it is oil soaked or
glazed (a hard shiny appearance on the sides of the belt).
Either of these two conditions can cause the belt to run hot,
which can weaken it and increase the danger of it breaking.
If the drive belt exhibits any of the above wear conditions,
replace the drive belt immediately.

TESTING THE GFCI RECEPTACLE
NOTICE
The GFCI receptacle is designed to interrupt power
when a ground fault exists to prevent injuries and shock
hazards. DO NOT use the GFCI receptacle if the test
below fails. Consult a qualified electrician for repair or
replacement of the GFCI receptacle. Test the GFCI
receptacle at least once a month.
1. Start the generator as outlined in the start-up procedure
in this manual.
2. Place a GFCI circuit breaker (Figure 75) in the ON
position.

3. Verify that the status LED on the corresponding GFCI
receptacle (Figure 76) is ON (GREEN).
