Fieldbus connectors can be ordered from Endress+Hauser as an accessory (see Section ' A ccessories' ) . The connection technology of FOUNDATION Fieldbus™ allows measuring devices to be connected to the fieldbus via uniform mechanical connections such as T-boxes, junction boxes, etc.

  • Page 18 Wiring RID14 To comply with both requirements, the FOUNDATION Fieldbus™ basically allows three different types of shielding: • Shielding at both ends • Shielding at one end on the feed side with capacitance connection to the field device • Shielding at one end on the feed side Experience shows that the best results with regard to EMC are achieved in most cases in installations with one-sided shielding.

    RID14 Wiring Degree of protection The devices fulfill the requirements for IP 67 degree of protection. Compliance with the following points is mandatory to ensure IP 67 protection is guaranteed after installation or after service work: • The housing seal must be clean and undamaged when it is inserted into the groove. The seal should be cleaned, dried or replaced.

Each bus user ’publishes’ its data on the bus and all the bus users configured accordingly obtain this data. Publication of this data is carried out by a ’bus administrator’ known as the ’Link Active Scheduler’, which controls the sequence of bus communication centrally.

    Appendix RID14 Appendix 14.1 Block model In the FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus all the device parameters are categorized according to their functional properties and task and are generally assigned to three different blocks. A block may be regarded as a container in which parameters and the associated functionalities are contained.
