Connecting Power Backup Line

A power backup circuit can be put in place in case AC power fails when no battery
is connected by connecting C.O. lines to extensions (Fig. 3.16). A pair of C.O. lines
should be connected to pins 1 and 2 of the first port of the 16SLI or the 8SLI. If a
power failure occurs, the relay function of the SLI enables emergency calls by di-
rectly connecting the C.O. lines to the phone.
