TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem—The Engine Exhaust Is Blue
Cause
The engine oil level is too high
(engine oil is reaching the combustion
chamber).
The turbocharger is leaking oil.
The valve stem seals are loose or
damaged.
The piston rings are worn.
Problem—Engine Brake Performance Is Poor
Cause
The engine brake control switch is
damaged.
The exhaust brake is not operating
properly.
The constant-throttle valves are
malfunctioning.
Components of the MCM and/or CPC
are damaged.
Problem—Cruise Control Is Not Working
Cause
One or more of the cruise control
switches are damaged.
Components of the MCM and/or CPC
are damaged or not working properly.

Remedy
Adjust the oil level, and then have the
oil level checked by an authorized
dealer.
Have an authorized repair facility
replace the turbocharger
Have an authorized repair facility
replace the seals.
Have an authorized repair facility
replace the piston rings.
Remedy
Replace the switch
Have an authorized repair facility
check the operation of the valve.
Bring the vehicle to an authorized
repair facility for service.
Bring the vehicle to an authorized
repair facility for service.
Remedy
Replace the damaged switch.
Bring the vehicle to an authorized
repair facility for service.
