HOW-TO SECTION
How to Replace the Lube
Oil and Filters
Filters are an integral part of the
fuel system. Proper filter selection
and maintenance are important to
satisfactory engine operation and
service life.
Filters should be used to maintain
a clean system, not to clean up a
contaminated system.
FIRE
To avoid injury from fire, keep
open flames, sparks, electrical
resistance heating elements, or
other potential ignition sources
away when draining lubrication
oil. Do not smoke when draining
lubricating oil.
NOTE:
Select the SAE class (viscosity) on the
basis of the average air temperature
for the season. See Figure 33. View
the temperature ranges for the various
SAE classes as guidelines which can
be exceeded for only a short time.
