The following sections detail what is new in Installing Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 5900 Series,
NN47211-300.

New hardware

ERS 5928MTS-uPWR is the new switch added to ERS 5900 Series. The ERS 5928MTS-uPWR
switch is compliant with IEEE 802.3bz for 100M/1G/2.5Gbps over twisted pair. The switch supports
24 100/1000/2500 Copper ports and four SFP+ ports, each capable of supporting 1Gbps/10Gbps
pluggable transceivers.
UPoE capable ports support 802.1af and 802.1at capable powered devices, as well as UPoE
powered devices over a 2-two pair system, where each two-pair circuit operates as an 802.1at
capable powered device.
