The 700/1200 W AC PSU functions from 90 V to 264 V and 47 Hz to 63 Hz AC Input. Each PSU
provides 700 W to the system if the AC input is in the 110 V low-line output power range and 1200 W
to the system if the AC input is in the 220 V high-line output power range.
A greater number of PSUs are needed to support the load if the low-line power range is used to power
the chassis. The software determines the maximum available power required for the chassis and enables
the modules accordingly. You must power the entire chassis from either the low-line power range or
the high-line power range only. If the low-line power range is used to power one or more of the 700/
1200 W AC PSU(s), all PSU(s) contained within that chassis will be limited to 700 W AC in order to
support redundancy.
Table 9
lists the characteristics and specifications for the 700/1200 W AC PSU.
Either the low-line or high-line power range is acceptable. Depending upon individual system
configurations, the system software limits the number of modules that are allowed power based on
power calculations of energized 700/1200 W AC PSU(s). The BlackDiamond 10K series modules require
two to four times the power of the BlackDiamond 8810 modules. Extreme Networks recommends the
220 V AC high-line power range for 700/1200 W AC PSU(s) used in conjunction with BlackDiamond
10K series systems.
