I just got my 1280x720 resolution working. It works great for watching DVDs in full
screen mode, since it takes up the entire screen! There's just a bit of overscan at the top,
but I can live with it. Here are my timings:
PowerStrip timing parameters:
1280x720=1280,104,40,288,720,21,5,0,76551,7
Generic timing details for 1280x720:
HFP=104 HSW=40 HBP=288 kHz=45 VFP=21 VSW=5 VBP=0 Hz=60
Linux modeline parameters:

I had tried Burble's 1184x666 timing, but got the top part of my screen flickering around.
I'll try your settings next to see if that fixes it.
Oh, I also got a 720x480 resolution working that seems to be the right size for a 4:3 full
screen of my TV tuner card. The image isn't perfectly centered on the screen (i.e. there's
more black bar to the left than the right), but it's ok.

BTW, I don't think the monitor driver matters much besides the fact that it's a non Plug
and Play monitor. I chose the Sony PCVD-A202 and it seems to be working ok for me.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm using a Radeon 7500 to connect to my GWII 50" via a
single- link DVI-D cable.
