PROCEDURE TO CONNECT GWII THROUGH DVI
MONITOR DRIVER INSTALLATION:
1 - Get a resolution working when you connect your PC and the GWII via DVI.
Any resolution will do.
2 - Install Powerstrip. You may need to re-boot so that Powerstrip is launched.
2 - Go to the task bar select Powerstrip à OPTIONS à MONITOR INFORMATION.
At this point you should see the driver that is install on your P.C.
3 - Under the current MONITOR INFORMATION select change MONITOR DRIVER
(The default is READ DATA FROM REGISTRY). At this point, you will get the System
Properties under WinXP. Select the HARDWARE tab if it wasn't already selected. Select
DEVICE MANAGER. Click on monitor and select the monitor you have with the mouse
right button.
4- Select update driver. Never let windows look for the driver. Select INSTALL FROM
A LIST OF SPECIFIC LOCATION (ADVANCED). CLICK NEXT.
5 – On the next Window, select DON'T SEARCH, I WILL CHOOSE THE DRIVER TO
INSTALL. Click Next.
6 – On the next Window, Click on SHOW COMPATIBLE HARDWARE. At this point
you will get a list of all monitor drivers. Under SONY select SONY GDM-W900 (see
configuration table for other drivers). This seems to have all the resolutions that are
needed. Either Windows will ask you restart or you restart the PC.
7 - After re-boot is complete, Go to the task bar select Powerstrip à OPTIONS à
MONITOR INFORMATION and verify that the monitor information screen contains that
correct monitor driver that you selected on step 6. Proceed to the Next step ONLY IF
THE INFORMATION SHOWS THE CORRECT MONITOR DRIVER, OTHERWISE
REPEAT STEPS 1 – 7.
RESOLUTION INSTALLATION:
8 - Go to the task bar select Powerstrip à DISPLAY PROFILESà CONFIGURE.
9 - Make sure "Hide modes not supported by monitor" is NOT checked. If so, uncheck.
10- Click on ADVANCED TIMING OPTIONS.
11- Click on CUSTOM RESOLUTIONS.
