Troubleshooting
Symptom
The printer answers the call,
but does not accept incoming
data.
The received fax size is
reduced.
Faxes cannot be received
automatically.

Cause
The sender loads the pages
incorrectly.
Not enough memory.
The paper supply in the printer
does not match the document size
sent.
The printer is set to receive faxes
manually.
The memory is full.
The telephone line is connected
incorrectly.
There is a problem with the fax
machine of the sender.
Solution
Contact the sender.
If the job contains several graphics,
the printer does not have enough
memory. If memory is low, the printer
does not answer. Delete stored
documents and jobs and wait for the
existing job to complete. This
increases available memory.
Confirm the original size of the
documents. Documents are reduced
based on the available paper supply in
the printer.
Set the printer to an automatic
reception.
Load paper if it is empty, and then
print the faxes stored in the memory.
Check the telephone line connection.
If it is disconnected, connect it.
Make a copy to check that the printer
is operating correctly. If the copy was
printed correctly, have the recipient
check the condition of the fax
machine.
