Boot OS/2 for DRAM > 64MB
®
This allows you to run the OS/2
operating system with more than 64MB
DRAM. When you choose No, you cannot run the OS/2
with more than 64MB DRAM. But it is possible if you choose Ye s.
Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T.
This allows you to activate the S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis &
Reporting Technolog y) capability for the hard disks. S.M.A.R.T is a utility
that monitors your disk status to predict hard disk failure. This g ives you an
opportunity to move data from a hard disk that is g oing to fail to a safe place
before the hard disk becomes offline. Setting s: Enabled and Disabled.

Advanced Chipset Features

Note: Change these settings only if you are familiar with the chipset.
Configure SDRAM Timing
Selects whether DRAM timing is controlled by the SPD (Serial Presence
Detect) EEPROM on the DRAM module. Setting to By SPD enables CAS#
Latency, RAS# Precharg e, RAS# to CAS# Delay and RAS# Precharg e
automatically to be determined by BIOS based on the config urations on the
SPD.
CAS# Latency
This controls the timing delay (in clock cycles) before SDRAM starts a read
command after receiving it. 1.5 (clocks) increases the system performance
the most while 3 (clocks) provides the most stable performance.
Setting s: DDR 1.5, 2, and 2.5 (clocks)
SDR 2 and 3 (clocks)
Precharge Delay
The field specifies the idle cycles before precharg ing an idle bank. Setting s:
